I almost don't want to eat it but it won't be good forever. I will probably admire it for another day or 2 and take a few more photos of it in different backgrounds before I crack it and eat it.

I did above. There are a couple more in my nervous thread from last night. You can check my content and the thread I made about Big Red. There is even a video of her putting a golf ball! Thank goodness she laid today! I will take some glamour shots of it tomorrow after work and maybe a second egg if Red lays one.

Now I can go nuts when the next one in line to lay her first drives me nuts. Dove: The whisperer of golf balls, the growler, the pot stirrer. She is the first to make loud horrible noises to get everyone else all riled up. She speaks softly to the golf balls so this should be interesting.

It was so devastating!! I literally cried myself to sleep several nights in a row.
The new babies ARE strong and healthy!

The coop has been fortified, and is on its 4th flawless night of testing,(with an unwanted rooster).
The rest of the flock sleeps peacefully, in a separate predator-proof dog kennel.

OhMaGosh! That pic made me do a double take - I couldn't believe the tail on that "rooster!"

However, I mentioned that idea to my husband earlier and he is not pleased with it in the least. Lol
My daughter wants to hatch it but no broody and I am absolutely not ready for purchasing any more equipment, or more chickens. It was more than I thought just getting set up properly for these few.
