Again, 1/6. I don't think the rest of my girls are going to lay. They're well over 8 months old and were chosen specifically for their ability to lay eggs at 5-6 months, and still not even any comb/wattle development, no signs of maturity whatsoever, just really big chickens that eat like machines and are never going to lay. I think we're going to eat them and start with a different flock next year. The people we got our chickens from turned out to be less than up-front about where they got their chickens & now here I am with a flock of hens going on a year old that won't lay. As of this week, they've been here 6 months and were a couple of months old when they came here! Soooo we're seriously discussing freezer camp for the non-layers and starting over in the spring with better quality chickens that might actually lay us some eggs.
