How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

24 today from our 29 GC's!!!

Did anyone happen to catch the episode of Modern Marvels on the History Channel today about eggs? Very interesting. It was titled 'Journey of the Egg from Henhouse to the Breakfast Table'. They covered the very large caged layer operations to the smaller cage free and free range operations. This one farmer out in California was selling all the cage free, free range, pastured eggs he could get for $8 a dozen and people were on his list for months to join. I looked it up on Bing and found it was a farm called EatWell Farms in the San Francisco area. Look for it if you have cable or satellite because I'm sure they'll be rebroadcasting it again soon.

3 eggs from 19 hens...not too thrilled at the moment...JK....I'll give them a little respite.

JimWWhite, no, haven't seen that....sounds very interesting. I'll have to look it up. Sounds very interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow, I can finally respond to this thread. Friday, I went out to feed the girls before I left for the weekend. My car was warming up and the camera was all ready packed to go south. I opened up the coop and WOW, I found my first egg ever - a nice med. sized dark brown egg on the poop board under the roost. Well today I got home and found 3 more eggs. There was one nice dark one on the coop floor and there was another dark brown one in the nest box along with a large light brown egg. What an awesome thing to come home too after a great Christmas weekend.

3/4 but I think it's 2 that are laying at the moment.
