Hisnwifenwas paying big bucks for the cage free ones. Yikes!

Yeah, that just doesn't cut it when your kids have cage free chickens!!! My MIL comes by for a half dozen each week. Least I can do for them with all that they have done and continue to do for us.

8 girls, 7 are laying, got 6 yesterday and 5 first thing this morning. And my little EE I hatched out last fall laid for the first time yesterday. A pretty green egg.

9 from my 10 hens ( one day last week we got 14 is that possible from 10 hens?)We get more after we feed our mash with treats mixed in... but they usually deliver around 7 for the 10 they are Jersey Giants not known for their egg production particularily, but am very satisfied with my big girls.... Weather here strangely spring like-- mid 60's bright and sunny, lows to be about 40 I think...

Yeah thats what I am thinking, I work late mostly(off at midnight) and tend to sleep in I think if I feed em their mash late in the day (as late as 4pm) then it throws their laying later...
