How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got selayed yesterday.
Maria my Boer goat queen surprized me with triplets, 2 doelings and a buckling....
was 2/3 yesterday.
QAustra laid one, white as usual, and Goldie laid the other.
Red took the day off

Do Orpingtons lay decently???.??? I'm looking for the best layers but I guess it depends on the age.so lets say that a Orpington was 7-8 months old.would she be a good layer???? And could anyone tell me what a pullet i?????? I think it's a juevenile hen right??? Aaahhhh when yur new to chickens there's a lot to learn about tem!!!!!!!!!

don't know about the egg laying part.
at the deed store, they sold the chicks as pullets....
Hey, before last year, I had never raised chicks, and till I moved here, I never had chickens.

My understanding is that once refrigerated, the odds of them hatching are quite poor.


30-40 grams is the NORMAL size for my Cubalayas. They are mostly running 36 to 40 with the occasional 42 now.

I like the larger eggs. I started with the 2 hens as adults, so I'm used to getting the giant eggs...the mama hen lays eggs around 47-50 grams and they are smaller than I like, so now her chicks are laying and their eggs are super small. My six year old ate 5 of the small eggs for breakfast this morning...lol. Luckily I now have a fridge full of small eggs.

I have a buff Orpington that just started laying, and she lays huge eggs! Almost everyday. So she is a great layer! Not to mention the size of the eggs! 75 grams! That's a big egg.


Today so far I've gotten 5/7 so not too bad. I've been getting 6/7 the last 2 days though, so only getting 5 today is kind of blah, but maybe that means I'll get 7/7 tomorrow...

My 4 year old lives off of omelets. We like to make them with turkey breast, bell peppers, onions, black olives, tomato, and cheese. Delicious
