I got 7/7 yesterday! And they all laid in one box!

Got 7 eggs yesterday. I have a hen that is setting so I let her keep them and get all the rest.

16 from 16! One egg on the roost, 14 in the nest box and one very obvious evidence of having been trampled and eaten. Still, we had them all lay today. Woot. first time. I can sell 5 dozen this week.

4 for 4 today, but the real news is that my 11 month old pullet, Tina, has now laid 28 days non stop without a break. I'm amazed. She was a late starter, didn't start until mid February, when she was about 9 months old, but now she's a workhorse.  I have a thread on it, check it out for the details.

The best streaks my birds had were 84 & 80... which ended the same day. A fox was lurking around and spooked something out of them (not eggs!). They didn't lay again for 11 days, then went back to normal.

Since then added 5 new hens to the original 3, now getting 3-5 per day (the original 3 are now moulting).

Maybe when I get home I will be pleasantly surprised. If I check too early and collect the 3-4 laid, no more later that day. If I wait till later, I get 4-5. Coincidence, I think not... the heifers get mad if I "steal" their stash.

But they are making up for lost time. 3 black orpingtons, and 3 Rhode Island Reds
