How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 4 out of 5 hens

my hens are a year old. 3 ee and then 2 crosses

Yesterday was 3 for 3...

I should add, mine are yearling pullets, Austra being about a month or so younger than Goldie and Red.

So far 12 today.
We were wondering what was going on since our production seemed to be down for a few days. Then I had my husband climb up and check on the shelf that holds our bale of hay and there they were 8 eggs! The bale is about 8 feet off the ground and we didn't think they could get up that high. S we put a large bin on top of the bale last night and today one of the girls got up there and pushed the bin off and laid and egg. I'm thinking if you can't beat them join them...
What we are wondering is.....should we just put a nest box up there or what?

15 out of 20...but 1 is brooding... so 15/19...

9 pullet eggs (pee wee size) out of 13 from the 21 week old girls, 6 for 6 from the year old girls, broody is a bantam sitting on 5 LF eggs...

evidently they like high places.
Mine like high roosts. And red got out the other day.
Dunno exactly how, but they can jump and fly higher than you might think.
mayhap you should simply put a nest box up there, being as they are determined to use the spot...

Today, Austra was the only one that laid an egg, and she did so in the second nest box, that seldom gets used.
So, 1 of 3 today.
