So far i got 6 eggs from 13 chickens, but only 10 layers

I have 2 coops attached to their run, the girls have taken over the entire "apple crate" coop for laying. there are roosts in there, but they no longer use them. the other "store bought" coop is only used in the early evening for preening

. they roost in the run, all year round. I cover it with heavy vinyl in the winter as the entire run is skinned in hardware cloth and is entirely open air...

well i got 5 of 5 hens but i dropped one.

Monday- 12/17. Tuesday-14/17 and Wednesday- 14/17
Since we took the hay bale off the shelf they aren't using it to nest but they are roosting on the shelf again.

while I collected only 12/19... there must have been a 13th. a soft shell, and they must have eaten it over the other eggs... they're all "yolky"

5/6 one eggs was soft AGAIN it was smashed!!! Culling that hen tomorrow

Our girls are really getting the hang of this. 8/10 for the second time this week. Slowest day was 4/10.
