How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/6 culled the soft egg laying hen & gave away 5 pullets today... Now I have more room for chickens

. They did 8 the other day. I don't know what to do to get them laying better.
What breed(s) are they? We have LBs and they're not known as a heavy egg production breed, around 150/year. So not all of them will lay every day. Most we've had is 9 out of 10 which is really good for them but rare. Most we usually get is 7, what they average. 6,7,8 are the common numbers for these girls and they're not a year old yet. So if they're young and/or a light egg production breed, you're not going to get a ton every day. We added three more breeds that lay more to go w/ these girls.

That said, today was a 6/10 kinda day.

I have 3 white leghorns, 1 golden comet, 2 australorps, 1 jersey giant, 1 EE, 2 FBCM, 1 barred rock, 1 cuckoo maran and two BCM mixes. I also have a silkie who hasn't laid a single egg since i got her so I don't count on hers (shes out with my chicks in the bif brioder) but the others I had hoped for more from.

Hmmm... You've got quite a variety and most are average to above average production wise. The three breeds we added are breeds you also have. Are they young birds, first year laying? Ours have only been laying two months so far.

Today was an average day. 7/10... Got one that's acting a bit broody. Every time I collect eggs I have to pick her up off them to collect them and then I put her back w/ her golf balls... she seems happy w/ this arrangement.
