How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I've noticed that my Easter Eggers eggs tend to be more medium size than large. Is that a trait that seems to run with tinted egg layers? Next spring I am going to start selling eggs at the local farmers market and will charge about the same prices as you. Right now I am intentionally

underselling some locals who have taken advantage of being the only few "fresh egg" sellers in the area. (they have raised their prices from $1.50 to $3.50-$4 on average in the last two years) The demand for eggs is high but not at those prices unless it's at the local farmer's markets that are around. Currently I have more "orders" than I can fill.

Free enterprise at work I guess.

I figured they were smaller because she's half silkie bantam. It may be a colored egg thing. My araucanas and Easter egger haven't laid yet,so I have no point of reference. 3 out of 5 again. 2 Brown 1 khaki green

I received my very first egg the day before yesterday.

I got zero yesterday and 3 today from my 6 RSL's!!!

Congrats nab58!!! I got 8 today, hoping for a 9th by this evening. I'm slowly getting more every day. 8 out of 12. But I have a question, I have a LH and she has not laid an egg in about 3 days, should I be worried?

When I checked on the other chicken they had layed 4 EGGS but I did not check the nest for 3 days because I thought I had 1 to 2 months more Question can we eat the eggs still. Because we have a Rooster and I don't want to crack open a baby forming.

yes, you can eat them. The hens aren't sitting on them so they wont form.

We got 14 today, a low day. We usually get 17-19 and about every 4th day is low. I think one of my young pullet is laying a soft shell egg. (twice now) if that's the case thats amazing considering she's only 15 weeks.

But I have a question. If the shell is broken is the egg still edible? She only pecked a hole in the shell, the egg is still there.

We keep our Cracked or Holed eggs for House eggs.. so yes we eat them.
