How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I am up to 2 white and 1 brown. and 2 duck eggs. one duck egg was rubber though.

Hmm... The only two I can match up for sure are my two white egg laying Leghorns. My other four are brown egg layers- 3 Golden Comets and a White Plymouth Rock ( I think). These were all Tractor Supply pullet chicks. Whoever is laying, I'm very excited with 5 eggs daily!

Today is my first day i got 6 eggs from 6 hens. Wahooo!!!

We got 17 from 22 today and our older leghorn laid a gigantic egg! Weighed in at 93 grams (3.2 oz)!

The brown one is a jumbo at 72 grams and is dwarfed by the white one.

I got 8 from 9 again today although I am a little confused. My hens have a free range area where they are all together, there are 2 'sheds' that they all have access to. They all seem to lay in the same one that they sleep in. These last 2 days I have had a very small light brown egg, looking like a first egg, in the smaller shed. The only one that I thought was not yet laying is a 20 week leghorn, who does sleep in that shed but shouldn't she lay white eggs?

I left them shut in a bit longer this morning to try to identify the eggs. Today there was a small soft shell egg. Pale but not white.... but by process of elimination it had to be either the 20 week leghorn or a 9 week marans cross. I'm guessing it must be the leghorn, hopefully as they get bigger they will get whiter (or she's not pure leghorn?)

Most chickens start laying around 20-24 weeks old so in your case it looks like you are about 2-3 months away yet.

I got 7 nice eggs yesterday. They are still very small eggs, at 1.4 oz each. Below is a pic of my haul two days ago, with the one EE's first egg on the left (light green) and the other EE's light blue egg on the right. Nine eggs total out of my 12 starting pullets! Installed supplemental lighting yesterday - don't really need it right now, but have it set for 5 - 6:30 AM anyway.
