How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Something is wrong I got 0/9 And 1/3 but I here the singing right know fingers crossed.

11/12 today from my 22-week old pullets, by 4:30 PM! Might be the first 100% egg day if one more lays! I actually saw my first egg drop today. A BO hen was laying in a horizontal position, then raised her breast up, put her butt down, and I heard an egg hit the bottom of the nesting box! Didn't know they would configure themselves like that, right before laying.

I have one of those wee eggs, too. I kept it out of my sale stock, though. I'll just throw it in my breakfast or something.

I got 9/14 today. One of them still keeps laying under the roost in the poo-pit. I have to catch it early before they start playing soccer with it. I heard them making an alarm this afternoon and went down to check out the threat and expected a stray dog or something, but no, it was just one hen wanting the favorite nesting box and another hen not giving it up. I think I need to put in more nesting boxes.

Happi, she will wiggle her way into the same box with the other pullet/hen...mine do it all the time.

I got 10 from 12 today. Got one "egg" with no shell at all this morning.

Really? My pullets absolutely refuse to share! One even makes a very unpleasant 'hurry up' noise if someone is taking too long in her favorite box.

Oh yeah and it's the funniest thing I have ever seen. I have one that will wiggle her way into a box that is occupied because she doesn't want the open one.... lol It's funny to watch her walk from one box t the next and figure out which box she is going to push her way into. And as far as them laying eggs on the floor they will eventually use the nest box.... I had 4 of them that would lay eggs on the floor, then one day I found all the eggs in the boxes. I have 12 pullets and have been getting 10 or 11 a day. I need to get my "eggs for sale" sign up soon. I'm starting to run out of room in my fridge for eggs.

My girls will squawk and carry on if someone is in "their" box. Eventually they will sit in another box until the other is vacated, then they will sit in "their" box to lay. It's quite amusing.
