How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

8 from 16 hens and two pullets that started laying since Christmas. We don't use lights and the weather has been quite cold so I'm pretty happy with their production!

I"ve been getting between 5 and 7 from our 7 hens."Duncia",our Americauna has only missed one day in a month and the temperature at night has been between 0 and -15 at night.I do use two heat lamps which keep the coop above freezing and an LED light, the equivalent of a 100 watt bulb,to give 14 hours of light.

6/29. I had a move around the other day where I moved all this years pullets into the big laying shed and have selected my stock to breed with and so will e hatching more in January. Infact I've never stopped hatching all year, lol.i had 5 either Buff Orpingtons or Buff Sussex's hatch yesterday out of 7 eggs

Sounds like lots of fun. I would enjoy the selective breeding and hatching and all.

I got 19/23 eggs yesterday.

We had 2 before daylight today

My silly question is "What the heck were you doing up before daylight????""

This would be me that early!!!

And on another note, I am still averaging 9-11 eggs per 12 layers a day. Two days I had a full 12 from 12. Quite a few double-yolkers!!! People I'm selling them to are loving them!!

Started them on formented feed yesterday so we will see if it stays good!!!

Sunrise is after 8am and then dark again just after 4pm :( The girls have taken themselves to bed by 4pm and I've just popped out to find Lily the Polish on the nest box lid again so popped her indoors. Daisy (Wyandotte) is sitting in the favoured nest box. I may check to see if there's another egg later!

Marmalada - you are lucky, our girls have the same time as yours do out of our 12 we are getting 3 every other day or so. I don't think they like the lack of light much. When they got into laying in Sept we were almost getting a dozen a day.
