How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

One of my 3 month old chickens disappeared. I think it was a rooster, so I'm not sure if the other 2 roosters ran it off or if a predator got it. I heard a ruckus, like chickens bothering chickens, earlier this evening. When I went out to lock up the birds I was 1 short. I looked all over for it with a flashlight but all I found were some feathers (no blood). Last summer we had 1 young rooster that ran off for 2 days and then came back. So who knows.

Maybe roosting in the trees? I had some that were getting all the way up on my patio cover until I "trained " them to use the coop.

I checked the trees inside the "chicken yard" as best I could in the dark, but we have woods on 2 sides of the chicken yard and I wasn't able to check in there. That is where I think the rooster last year was hiding out for 2 days before he came back to the coop.

I got 6 beautiful big eggs out of 10 today! Waiting for my others to start laying!!

what an excellent assortment of colors. and they look very healthy
