Been working on the coop a little today.

There some beauties! Small and from young hens but I'm very pleased.

A perfect 10/10 today. We got our first egg from this group on Jan 24.

4 today from 8 hens, still waiting on the 2 ameraucanas to start laying. They are the same age as the 3 BSL and they have been laying for at least a week or two.

3/6....they are back and forth..but the ladies are laying strong. ..spring will bring in the bounty!

We've started a calendar on the fridge so I can see who's doing what. My husband and kids thought I was being crazy but its nice to use as a reference. We have 2 hens of each of our standard breeds and then 2 bantams so its pretty easy to know which breeds are pulling their weight, even if we don't know which hen specifically. One of our partridge Plymouth rock girls seems to have smaller eggs than she use to.
