How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have to say that I did not think of that ...... Good idea ....

Usually a good idea to think what you have at home that would accomplish the same task before buying something, keeps the clutter down a bit

Is egg size measured in grams in the States usually?

lol, yes! I have little measuring cups (they really look like shot glasses with red lines and measurements written on it by Pyrex) that measure out one ounce of water lol.
I would go crazy having to count with the imperial units. I can handle cooking with US recipes, but my god that system is badly suited for math or physics. It's also funny that you have to consider the audience your communicating with and usually give out imperial figures in addition to what you're using yourself when discussing temperatures, measurements or weight on BYC.

yeah, its a little ridiculous how people are so stuck in thinking their way is better even though the other way is actually congruent with nature!

Imperial does have some advantages to it too though, for instance a meter is a pretty abstract concept, while a foot actually is about the length of a grown mans foot. The Fahrenheit scale I can't really justify though. "Hey, let's put 0 deg at the coldest I can achieve at home with basic chemistry, and 100 at the body temperature of a person with fever!"

that would be a good way to have a universal understanding of what "100 degrees" means lol

Well, I believe his intention was to actually use the normal body temperature of humans, but still. I think basing it on water is more elegant, since it's found everywhere where there's life. Water freezes at 0 and boils at 100, simple. As long as you're at normal pressure that is. Although with temperatures, even us metric people need to convert to Kelvin when doing physics in most cases.
