Just got home from our trip this evening and went out to say hello to my girls. Daughter had already gathered 9 (out of 19 girls, but I found this one, still warm, in one of the nests - haven't figured out which chicken gave me a second huge egg in one week, but when it's light tomorrow I'll watch them carefully. I'm sure the chicken who did two of these in three days will be the one that's limping!

Hooray! Yesterday there were two little blue eggs so I know both Ameraucana pullets are laying and healthy. 7/9 today and 5/9 yesterday. Thanks for the suggestions re: egg bound chickens. I'm glad that wasn't my problem. I was just over anxious!

Blooie, that is a nice sized egg. Don't think our girls could pass something like that yet.

yesterday I got
8/10 brown eggs (adding the BA's in with the others now)
9/11 Leghorns
2/2 Silkies
1/6 EE Pullets this one was from a different girl, as it was green, and the first was blue.


this morning I went in and found only one egg so far (only 8 AM) and it was a shelless beauty from one of my pullets, she dropped it from the roost, and is my first ever soft shelled egg that survived for me to find, before all I've found was the membrane.

It's early for my girls yet but I have 2 duck eggs. Those two are very predictable.
