I have 5 RSL's. These girls have given me 177 eggs since the first of september. They have only missed 8 times between the 5 of them. Unreal little magical pets they are indeed. They were born March 26th.

3 eggs out of 15 girls They just started laying a few days ago and I've gotten perfect little eggs each day from 3 of them

11 today. I thought I was going to get 12 because 1 of the new layers was in the nest box late in the afternoon. I went to reach under her to see if there were any eggs from anyone else in that box and she pecked me hard! I guess she isn't use to me like the older girls!
We got home late this evening after visiting with an uncle that is in town. I went to lock up the chickens and went in the barn to count them all to make sure everyone got "home" safely, unfortunately this evening I am 1 chicken short. The dog and I searched all over, using a flashlight, but we didn't find anything. No chicken, no pile of feathers... So I am hoping that she is hiding in the woods and will come out tomorrow. I am hoping she wasn't "gotten" by the stray cat we've been trying to catch, or a skunk, possum or raccoon... or anything else that lives around here but that we haven't seen. I guess the big owl that I having been hearing lately might be big enough to fly off with her. Hopefully not. Hopefully she will turn up safe & sound tomorrow.
