How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Its been snowing here, not much is sticking yet but I am glad the molting was over weeks ago. Should be finding one egg tonight but am always hoping for more... 7 more girls that are coming of age.

It is a joke in my family since every Thanksgiving I say "Only one more month and the days start to get longer!"

Uggh. I hate winter.

I used to and then I spent 3 yrs in Houston, Texas. No real change in season except it's chillier in the morning. I could still wear a tank top and shorts trick or treating. Considering when we lived in MI before we were practically in snowsuits.

I love being back home, watching the leaves change, heck just having trees again. The first snowfall, snowball fights, building the giant snowman (that I have to sit on the couch for 2 days to recover from) are all a big part of winter for me. It's the dang ice I can't stand. Last year, the ice storm hit before the snow and it was so cold the snow insulated the ice in the driveway and it never melted. Trying to get in and out of the driveway was a nightmare. That is the only thing I don't care for.

2/3 today... I think I saw the bantam waiting to lay too... =D so possibly 3/3

My DH always say they all laugh at me when I go in the coop to feed them. haha but really they are clucking around me...=P

1 out of 4 today. The least amount of eggs since 10/22.

I have 25 hens, I know that there are 4 that have not started laying yet. They are about 26 weeks or so.

So out of the 21 that have ever laid, I got 13 out of 21.

I have one (chicken) that I still don't know what it is. Plenty old enough to have started laying. I have gotten any from it yet. I would know because she should lay brown eggs and she is in with my EE's. she has the comb and body of a hen and the tail and saddle feathers of a rooster. I'm wondering if she'll ever lay.
