How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Three a day with three hens. One egg is always a double yolk. They just started laying a month ago.

One so far, but it was only 5:30 am when I checked. -27C still.

With yesterdays egg count in I finally have our very first 18 egg carton full!! Making pickled eggs with the pullet eggs next week! So eggcited!

I got one egg this morning.....I know Jessica left it for me. I saw her come out of the nest and it is a long pointy egg like she laid a month ago....before she started pouting and quit laying. Oh I hope this means she will leave me more eggs again. Miss Poppy had been the only one laying for a whole month.

It is a beautiful spring like day. And I can hear the peeping of a chick or two under the broody!

Pretty!  I have some pullets that are half Welsummer.  I'm hoping they will lay some speckled eggs.  I also have some half Isbars that will hopefully lay green speckled eggs.  

Yesterday I actually got 10 eggs instead of 9.  I caught the broody with an extra eggs this morning that she apparently stole from someone.  

yes that egg came from one off of our Welsummer's, sometimes they are dark brown and sometimes they are speckled, that particular one is the most speckling we have had to date.

Wow, that's a very pretty speckled egg!!

One brown this morning, day was still too young for more. Temperatures are very, very cold, -26C = -15F and feels like -36C = -32F.. sunny today but the chickens are not let out!!!

Beautiful speckled egg, I have a couple of birds that lay eggs with some speckling, but never like this one. I got 17/24 hens today. Was so excited to finally catch one of my newer birds laying an egg this morning. I had given up that she was ever going to lay e

So I guess some of the girls decided to take yesterday off as we only got 14/23. Weird too because our temp yesterday was 71 in Colorado. Today it is suppose to be in the 40's.

12/12 today everybody present and accounted for, rent paid! Apparently they liked the leftover veggies and fruit from Thanksgiving!

3 eggs, but I let them all out to free range around 10am. It is NOT sunny here today. Not at all....so, probably only 3 today.
