How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

11/12 .......and the nesting curtains are working wonders! I have only had to clean off maybe 3 eggs in the last month and even those weren't too bad!
I also have curtains, the girls wouldn't use the nesting boxes until I provided purdy curtains to satisfy their femininity and shy demeanor!

Do you have a picture?

17/23, ours are all over the place this week. Their coats were looking a bit dull and ragged, so added a probiotic this week to their diet we will see what happens. I miss the fermented feed for that and for extending their feed in general. We don't have the indoor space for me to ferment inside and there was no way in the cold I was going to be pulling slop out of buckets.

Still a big fat 0 for us.

Molting is done, new coop occupied for about 2 months, everyone looking good and acting fine, no fighting for weeks now, plenty of food and clean water always available.

Must be the short days and age.

**changing yesterday's total to 6/10. (Found one on the floor yesterday evening!)
Today's total is 7/10. Still thrilled with these gals. Can't wait for some more hens to start laying. The majority are 17-weeks-old on Monday!!

Curtains sound like a good idea
If I happen to catch her in the nest she will promptly get up and leave.

If I'm in there cleaning before she has laid she will scold me and leave
Curtains are awesome! This is a black and white picture, because it's at night, in the dark coop taken from my infrared coop camera, but you can see the curtains on the nesting boxes. They are simply cut to size, then stapled onto the wood. The curtains are the insulated room darkening kind. I bought them from the thrift store.
