21 eggs out of 28 possible layers, not too bad considering 3 are broody and 7 are older hens--actually, the 7 older ones gave me 5 eggs!

I recently got 17 new hens (and an unwanted rooster or two

...I think) I now have 15 Barred Rocks (plymouth Rock) and 2 leghorns

How long will it be till they begin to start laying again

? I need to add a couple more nesting boxes for them. I will then have a total of 4 boxes. If anyone has any advice.

..or info about raising them that I should know...please feel free to pass on any info. I am new to this. Have a great day. Deanna

Yesterday's production was pitiful. 1 egg for 20 hens. I've got all young birds and they were just starting to lay when this cold weather hit. I've gotten 79 eggs this year.
