Do you think one of your chickens layed twice in the same day?

Someone layed twice. I only have 10 chickens and there were 11 eggs. I collect them every day.

Interesting. What time do you check your eggs at? Sometimes my hens will lay as late as 4:00 maybe the extra egg was from yesterday? If one did lay twice thats pretty cool!

2/13...and someone made a snack of one or more...they cleaned up good as there were no yolk beaks. Unacceptable.

2/4 today. As long as I get a dozen a week, I'm happy. Anything over that goes to family and friends.

What about in young chickens?  Mine are 10 months old.  They have been laying fiends ever since they turned four months old.  This was the first soft shell I've gotten.  I'm kind of contributing it to getting that 11th egg out of 10 chickens but don't really know.

I have had a pullet lay two in one day. One being soft. After that everything with her was good. They've always had oyster shell and I give them used crushed egg shells so I chalk it up to random coincidence. Sometimes they just need to work out the kinks.

I don't usually get home until after dark and don't collect until they've been on the roost for a good while. Summer time is different but I don't get to interact with them during the winter much.
