7/8 not a bad day at all for the girls.

Sometimes it just happens, or sometimes it happens in older hens when their shell production starts to go haywire. You can try oyster shell. I give my old hens some calcium ground up in scramble egg. Despite doing it twice last week, I still found a soft egg in the coop this morning.

What about in young chickens? Mine are 10 months old. They have been laying fiends ever since they turned four months old. This was the first soft shell I've gotten. I'm kind of contributing it to getting that 11th egg out of 10 chickens but don't really know.

Yesterday was 5/5. Today was 3of 5, but 2 eggs were layed by one hen.
