How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

My boyfriend has 4 Delaware hens, 1 pretty bantam rooster, 3 Americauna's (2 hens, 1 rooster). I collect the eggs, give daytime care, and put them all to bed at night as they live in 2 different tractors. I got 5 eggs today. Not a bad day. Wondering why 1 of the Americauna hens has quit laying the past few days. Hoping it's due to the weather.

Is it normal for EE's to lay way less this time of year? Non lighted coop as i give the girls a winter vacation, but i've only had 3 eggs in a whole week from two girls. I was getting a dozen from those two a week in nicer weather.

My EE's lay less in the winter.

Four eggs from four pekins and four-five eggs from eight chickens!

A couple days ago, we got three duck eggs from the same four ducks, and 10 eggs from our eight chickens!!

My EEs have laid less this winter, but it's my first year with chickens so I assume it's natural for them. The Marans, the Red Sex Links, and the Buff Orpington make up for it, and I like the EEs despite the winter layoffs, so their place here is quite secure, Besides, if I decided the EEs had to go based on the ratio of feed to production, I'm afraid my granddaughter Katiebug would withhold her jelly kisses, and I just can't have that. As nice as a basket of colorful eggs might be, nothing beats a kiss on the cheek given by a little girl with jelly smeared all over her mouth!

Love my EE's too, would hate not having my 3 different shades of green eggs, my pink egg & my Robins egg blue egg.
