How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 3/6, but I'm excited about that. First chickens, their first eggs. One has been laying for about two weeks, one laid for the first time yesterday, and another laid today!

Congrats. I'm still waiting for two to lay. It's always exciting!

9/14 as of 10:00. Usually only get 5 or 6 by then and the rest in the afternoon.

If I wanted to just keep each coop bound and not the rest of my girls (and 1 guy) i was just wondering... I have an old dog house (abt 9 sq.ft and about 3 foot tall at the tallest point). If I cut in an extra window or two and cover with chicken wire, then put some hay in the bottom and maybe a low roosting pole, would that be OK and not traumatize too much in order to find out which one is laying the green egg and how often each lays?

And later if I put my RIR roo in with a RIR hen for a few days, do you think I would be getting fertilized eggs for sure?
