what about feeding them dog food for extra protein as a treat?

It's fine every once in awhile, but the salt content is pretty high. Mealworms, canned tuna, or leftover meat are better choices for boosting protein intake.

30s would be like a heat wave almost here. I don't think we got above 0 today.-15 to -20 this evening.Luckily the snow has just been a dusting here and there.
