How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

My chickens love the cracked corn or scratch grains. I keep their feeder full of layer pellets and another feeder with layer crumbers. And give the scratch in a feed bowl as treat. But they act like they would rather have just scratch. Is this ok?

Scratch, offered in limited quantities is fine. It's good for providing extra calories during very cold weather, or for a way of giving birds kept in runs something to do (that's why it's called scratch). Feed is designed to be a complete diet, with no extras needed.

4/5 with a high of 1F today, probably messed up the next few days though because the nest box they had was too small for the Delaware so I swapped it out. Sure that will stress them some.

3/3 today! One this morning, two in the afternoon. Let them out to free range a bit and scattered a bunch of sunflower kernels I found cleaning out the pantry.

Went out to give them a quick late treat and found one more. 9/14 today.

2/3. One laid at sunset yesterday so I wasn't expecting one from her today. I'm hoping she follows the other ladies lead and starts laying at sunRISE. Silly girl.

4/11 today, and one hen decided to sleep on a nest. I'm crossing my fingers that she finally has decided to go full broody.
