How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

11/15 so far, though temps is in single digit, so I collected often today to prevent frozen eggs.

From 2 coops I have 6 of 16 but I have realized my peeps must be all mixes, my new light Brahmas gave me the second egg since they have been here very light in color. the 6 I have in my main coop tend to lay on the floor those are very dark brown the bards seem to be a tad lighter brown with the rhode island reds falling in the brown to beige category.

When I left my house this morning it was 2/3 but the third tends to lay a little later. I'm hoping to find a 4th as my EE has been spending time in the nesting box the last 2 days. And I have high hopes that all 9 that are of age will be lying by next week. I still have another 3 weeks for 5 to come "of age" and 6 weeks for the other 6. And the Silkie... I'm not holding my breath for hers yet. Haha

6 of 9 again, but gravity got one.......

The hardest thing is keeping water from going solid ...... temps from -2 to a high of 17 ..... back down to 12 tonight ...... will warm a bit as it begins to snow in the AM.

I keep a light on from 6AM to 10PM....... no supplemental heat.

Just got home and we have a new layer. But unfortunately it was soft shelled and broke. That was our first soft shelled egg yet. Hoping tomorrow's is nice and strong!! So we are at 3/4 but only 2 usable. The dogs enjoyed it though!!
