This is my first five-egg day! I have three big girls who have been laying for a while and five babies who are just coming into lay. Two of my big girls have been taking a break for the winter, so for a while I've only been getting one or two eggs a day - one from a big girl, one from a baby who's been laying about two weeks. Then a week ago another baby started, and I was getting two or three eggs a day from eight birds. Today I went out there and found four eggs in the nest box and one in the little coop that's meant for quarantine, but I haven't needed to put anybody in quarantine in months. For some reason my Australorp, who would regularly use the nest box, has decided that now she lays her eggs in the little coop. I don't know why.
