Spent the day covering field wire with 2' chicken wire in and out of the coop so final is 9/14 wonder who is slacking? my bards are every day clockwork
so 5 brahmas not sure which ones aren't laying? and given day
The chicken wire I used yesterday is to keep our smallest dog from squeezing out of the field wire we have as fencing around we moved here in October and where thrilled it was fenced at all but we had to watch our little dog as he could escapeI use hardware cloth. Chicken wire is easily torn up by the smallest raccoon.
Fun rightThe chicken wire I used yesterday is to keep our smallest dog from squeezing out of the field wire we have as fencing around we moved here in October and where thrilled it was fenced at all but we had to watch our little dog as he could escape
This area is relatively free from most predators but I still have my run with a pony wall up two feet all around we have Zephyr-ah prowling the grounds at night. the roof of the run is also chicken wire because of the lack of predators. Talking to new neighbors that have been here for years are biggest issue here are coyotes and deer that she runs off.Fun rightthose critters can find ways to escape. We have our birds in a 15'x5'6' tall dog run right now until we can put up the privacy fence and skirt it with hardware cloth. Then we will open the pin up until it's about 20'x30' butting up to the fence. Our babies and juvenile birds will be in a smaller pin next to the big one for full view. Our dog will be allowed to roam the outer border protecting from ground predators while bird cloth will be stretched over the whole run to protect from airal attacks.![]()
