How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

14 of 16 maybe 18/ have to count again plus 2 had a
new layer in the coop the size of a robin egg almost missed it
Your eggs are so pretty! My white and brown layers are active, but I have olive eggers, easter eggers, and cream legbars who are 20+ weeks old. I can't wait to add more colors to my basket.

clipped their wings today for the first time

I'm jealous you actually have grass!! Mine have destroyed it all. I keep saying I'll section off a part of the run yard and replant, let it grow and then do another section. But, so far I haven't gotten around to actually doing it!
Oh I made the mistake of reading this wile eating lunch and yes you are correct it is not a comfortable feeling having coffee flow out your nose and it took me some time to clean up the computer screen .

The kids at school today were saying we are suppose to get down into the low 30's tonight. I think the high today was 59!

Oh, I almost forgot to add in my egg count. Lol! Only 5 again today. ! coop, still NO EGGS! 1 coop has increased eggs by 1, and the 3rd coop has decreased by 3 to 4 eggs a day.

I've got 24 chickens, and am getting 2 eggs a day. Courtesy of Banana Smoothie and Parakeet

I have found these cute little raised "garden" boxes on Pinterest that I want to try to get more grass in my coop. This is the photo I found. It seems like a great way to get vegetation in the coop while protecting the roots enough to grow!

9 eggs yesterday for 18 hens. Easter Eggers are starting to lay at the six month mark, as people here said they would. I got a dozen two days ago.

Since this is not entirely a hobby-and expenses are around $50/month- I've been running a light to allow for 14 hrs of light/day. Hopefully it will pay off-or else there will be more homemade mayonnaise, creamy salad dressing and mushroom quiche than my family knows what to do with.
