No i didn't weigh them. They were 11 weeks old and the males barely fit in a gallon freezer bag.My wife said if they were any bigger no way they would fit.
I still have one cockerel and two pullets.Im thinking about keeping them for eggs to incubate?
We kept 1 hen from the previous batch of cornish cross meat chickens. She is laying eggs, but I haven't tried to hatch any. Since they are crosses they won't breed true. I have a cornish cross rooster from this batch that I briefly thought about keeping for breeding purposes but decided not to. Haven't butchered him yet though. However, since they don't breed true, I don't see any reasons to keep him for breeding purposes. Not sure what would hatch out from the CX hen & our RIR rooster.
I think I got around 24 eggs from the last 2 days.
