I got one egg today. My cousins came over..... you can guess what happened next!
2 eggs broken on the ground.... 4 eggs broken in a container, and one in my sister's playhouse mailbox. (Wut?)

Butchered my meat chickens today I was sick of feeding them.
14 and one RIR Cockerel .That was a lot of work!

Man, that is the truth! I can only butcher 1 or 2 at a time, otherwise my back is killing me. Did you weigh your meaties after you butchered them? How much did they weigh?
The 3 I have butchered so far have weighed just over 5lbs (2 of them) and just under 5 lbs (1 of them). I still have 3 more meaties to butcher plus an extra cockerel. I am waiting for a friend to come back in town because she wants to learn how to butcher chickens.

Only 10 eggs for me today.

No i didn't weigh them. They were 11 weeks old and the males barely fit in a gallon freezer bag.My wife said if they were any bigger no way they would fit.
I still have one cockerel and two pullets.Im thinking about keeping them for eggs to incubate?
