How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

boy that is frustrating have one here pecking them then sucking the inside out

That's the frustrating thing, an egg eater. I'm sorry. You haven't caught the culprit I take it. What are you going to do?

I don't think I have an egg eater, I think it's someone needing to lay after roost time. This is the 4th one since they started laying.

Was thinking a poop board might soften the fall, but I dunno

We awoke to 1/5, in the nesting box, and it has a hard shell! Whoohoo! First hard shelled egg.

Girls turned 18 weeks today. After one bird had 2 soft shelled eggs the other day, I got the laying food and oyster shells. Thank goodness for good friends to offer advice and care!

Their run is in the back half of our yard. They love hanging out in this hedge. I just hope they don't get fancy and decide to lay eggs in it. The bottom branches extend a good six feet from the trunk and touch the ground.

Now we get to put my birthday present to good use! :)

I'm so happy this evening:celebrate. My 5 girls batted a 1000. 20170810_183354.jpg .Their first 5 hard shelled egg day, since July 26. Found 4 at 9 a.m. and 1 at 6 p.m. I had to take a picture.
They only had 12 perfect batting days last month. They also had some three egg days too.
They started a slow molt the last week of June.
Its been about 10 F cooler than average the past few days, and I noticed the feed consumption has gone up the past 3 days, after being down to about a 1/3 of winter/early spring consumption. GC
