hit a new high think I am up to 5 between the coops

3 by 9 this morning. I don't expect more but since they laid so early I expect to get at least 2 tomorrow (not counting my eggs before they are laid!!)

First snow this season. . Chickens remembered that they don't like to walk on snow.
Found a broken egg under roost at 5am and Bossy just laid an egg. Found 2 more at 9am. 3/5 today. GC

I got 2! My mean dominicker and one of my just finished molting easter eggers. I haven't seen a colored egg in so long I'd forgotten what they looked like.

I know what you mean was getting 1 or 2 a day about fell over found 5 in the main coop 1 in the new coop was amazing

We are down to 15 layers now after losing a couple more to the Marek's Disease that has picked off our flock one by one the last 6 months. Today was a bumper crop of 7 eggs, best day in weeks. Some of the molters are coming back online and we had a couple sunny days finally. We pumped the sprouts and oatmeal to them and they responded with some nice jumbo eggs!

My 23 RIR and EE,s have been giving me 12 to 18 eggs a day without lights in this their first winter, very happy so far.
