How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Congratulations @NancyNurseCxMama. Different shape (and likely a different shade of brown) almost certainly means a different girl started up. I've not found a particular breed lays a specific shape. Seems to be by the individual chicken. For example one of my White Rocks lays a "usual" shaped egg, fatter on one end, more narrow on the other. The other WR lays a egg that is almost impossible to tell which is the "fat" end.

2 - Trill and Veronica
My layers are almost a year old and they have never squatted for me at all.
My twelve 2012 girls were brooder raised, all squatted.
My seven 2015 girls were hen raised (still hatchery chicks). None of the squatted.
My six 2017 girls were brooder raise for 3 weeks, then Zorra decided to raise them. Half of them squat.

Which tells us what? Um, not sure :lau

That chickens are fickle things!

Hey,this one is pretty and painted opens from the top and front and has a little lock if i need it....im fully aware they'll probably never set foot inside the darn thing.:lau
OMG This is how I am with my chickens, too! Except it's feeders and waterers and everything else! LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one.
