I got 1, and she squeezed it out in front of me right before she roosted tonight. I mean literally, up the ramp,egg,roost. I'm bumfuzzled to say the very least and my eyes will never be the same. For anyone who has never seen an egg happen don't look.

I think 16 weeks is the earliest but i might be wrong. The grit and shells you're right if they need/want it they'll get it.

I had a Speckled RIR cross start laying about then maybe a week earlier. and she was laying a full sized egg every day soon after she started.

Wow, full size at that age is pretty rare I would think. My girls that started on the younger side had to work up to near full size, the ones that held out a long time pretty much started there.

I got 5 today but I have to share this massive bantam Cochin egg. I’m in shock... The white egg is the last of my store bought large grade. Maybe a double yolker?? If I get enough eggs to fill my last box by Sunday I will break this one open.

Justin Rhodes actually posted one of his chickens laying an egg and OMG I am forever changed! LOL! I understand exactly what you're saying. Your posts make me smile so much, I just want you to know.

2/5 today (still only two of my 32 week olds have started). I got this enormous egg a couple of days ago from the Golden Laced Wyandotte. She's been laying for 2 weeks. This is her normal size next to the giant egg. It was a double yolker.
