How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

We had read about the "sexing distinction" and were a bit concerned.

When we picked up our stock from Whitmore they had some older Welsummer and Marans pullets they were willing to sell, so we went ahead and took those to be sure. I still wish I had picked up one of their Welsummer or Ameraucana roos to work on Olive Eggers.

I'm curious to know if a casual visit to Whitmore might reveal there still are some there, just not selling online or actively. If there's a sign for eggs in the drive entrance for instance, they may still deal locally (be a neighbor )

Got 3 inches of snow on the ground, kids school got cancelled and we still got 24/30, we’ll see tomorrow maybe they’ll slow down, the effect of today’s weather. Came home from work all the 3 feeders are full, 3 waterers are all full and they’re all inside the 10 x 12 coop and the big covered runs empty of chickens. Did they suddenly got scared of the snow after the winter we had? (Scratching head)

Talked to DM today. ..her dog ran out this am to stop suddenly on seeing the snow. .. it was totally dumbfounded (part greyhound ) because there was nothing to chase !

We have very mild but sometimes too wet weather in Western Washington if you live on the coast more rain inland usually less sometimes rivers flood, don't live on one don't live on hill that may slide .. We are in a small town off the main roads love it ...
12 here today 2 banty from main coop 4 silky all broody 8 blue and black marans eggs
2 ameracauna eggs.. bought two peeps today 1 copper marans peep 1 cream legbar pullet taking to one silky with no eggs at dark hoping they will encourage the eggs to hatch also

TEN! First time in a LONG time. Of course when 5 of your 17 hens will be 6 in June, you don't really expect much of them. And certainly Betty gets a pass having just barely recovered from sour and impacted crop, probably with an infection. She just went back to the barn this afternoon.

25/30 —2 broken in the nest, made other eggs messy, soft shells must be from new layers since the winter break. I was expecting less eggs today since the winter storm yesterday. But I’ll take it

11 out of 25 hens.
But they seem to be on alternating days. But they are starting to get in sync after their winter break.

My ccl pullets started laying first this year. Usually it's the leghorns.
