33 Eggs Today and more snow
Yep it’s our kids 11 month old corgi mix, that almost ate one of our new BC Marans hatch, he was begging to see all the chirpers.

(I think it may have been the 2nd egg of one of my girls) then a first egg for another and my regular silkie egg (after not expecting many eggs from my 2 silkies - I'd been told they lay 2 a week I get one almost every day and 2 days this week I had 2!!).

I'm about to post about if one of them is broody or not! How early can they lay from? I go out about 7.30 but the egg eating must have happened after that and before late morning. Yes they have a high protein mixed flock type pellets with vitamised grit and oystershell free choice on the side.Siky's like to go broody on us I have 4 they all are .. be careful see if you can get out there early to collect do you offer oyster shell ?
Eekit is best to figure out who is doing it isolate them from the others eggs or cull them

culling seems a majorly extreme solution when they are such young pullets and it was only the 2nd real egg they'd seen! They have plaster eggs in the nest box which is what they say is good. I'll explore all the other options first!

My Cubalayas weren't supposed to be good layers but they were through their first year (when they weren't broody) and through their second spring. Then they slowed down.(after not expecting many eggs from my 2 silkies - I'd been told they lay 2 a week I get one almost every day and 2 days this week I had 2!!).
