What? You leave your babies in the charge of others?
We pretty much never go anywhere and when we do one of the kids (OK, DD1 so far) has taken care of the animals. Might be going to Halifax, NS to look at a college with DD1 in August, definitely a many day trip, 12 hours driving just to get there and neither DW or DD1 can be in a car anywhere near that long. That will leave DD2 to take care of the animals. She can do the indoor cats, will have to train her to do chickens and alpacas, she never goes out to the barn. But I know she CAN do it, she and DD1 have an occasional job animal sitting: OLD horse, dog, 2 cats and some chickens. She can do a lot of things for cash money that she will make every effort to avoid doing at home for room and board.
