18 eggs today. Plus i have 2 hens trying to go broody. 1 was the hen that was broody in April, but did not do a good job. She sat tight, but I think she killed and ate the 2 that hatched. All I found were shells. The rest of the eggs rotted! I bought her a couple of day old chicks ( and 2 turkey poults) but she rejected them all the next morning. So I tossed her off the nest. Now she is back at it.:he She may get her chance while I am in Jamaica. I leave on the 12th. My husband isn't the best at collecting eggs every day. :idunnoWho knows, maybe she will figure it out this time.

2/2 perfect again and they have both worked out to go back in the coop to lay even later in the morning! I was a bit worried about my broody as she spent a lot of time off the eggs yesterday so I have a incubator I've borrowed ready to save them if need be but looking good today! have let mummy and the new chicks outside as well so everyone is very happy down there!

That’s great, our broody #2 hasn’t let her chicks come out yet, she’s still hiding them and she’s still sitting on eggs way pass the 21 day mark. I think today I might take all those 5 eggs away, probably dead by now. Broody#3 & 4 is due to hatch on Wednesday and 9 egg hatching in incubator by Thursday.
