@penny1960 I planned on breaking her that way but I don’t have any wire bottomed crates. I may need to pick up one on offerup or something.

Or just make a broody buster from scrap wood and hardware cloth.

I just had a broody. I put her in a dog cage . First I tried it without the tray in the bottom so she'd be on wire but the wire was too wide. Then I saw a video on YouTube by Justin Rhodes. He left the tray in but no bedding, in 3 days his chicken was no longer broody. I did the same. It worked.

I've been getting lots of 3/3 - with such high laying and the silkie who has started pumping them out and her chicks now bigger than her (orpington and Araucana) I'm wondering if she'll go broody again

Yes, shes a new layer, about 3-4 weeks.

I got lots of doubles from one of my hens in the first 6-8 weeks of laying. Havent' had one for a while now though!

18 Yesterday, day 11 for the the 7 eggs I set in my Brinsea mini, candled and nothing going on, chucked all of them away. Eggs must be too old. I was still wishing for more black Copper Marans and olive Eggers to hatch so I’ve set another batch in.

we are pretty mild here summer cold has BF and I by the nose ... my lavender ameracauna hen is broody again locked her up hoping to break her nope so only got 7 eggs yesterday ... BF enlarged the boys coop with another shipping box big enough to stand in from our neighbor gonna through her in there see if my cockerel is shooting blanks

23 Eggs Today, set another 28 Eggs on Brinsea Ovation 28, this time hopefully most will hatch, will be my last for this year. I timed the lockdown the day I come back from Atlanta trip. (Edited: added one more late egg layer)

8 today, Angel is still on strike. Zorra laid an egg today and spent the rest of the day in the nest. I threw her out about 6 PM. She was back in at close up time so I put her on the roost. I guess Angel is going to have a roommate.

looks like I may have 10 one broke had a dimple it was on the nesting boxes looked like the membrane was intact stuck it in my pocket well membrane was broke also very guey substance
