How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I've been getting either 7 or 8 eggs or 12 to 14 eggs a day.
I've been busy working on making a quilt for my Grandson. His birthday is September 16. So I don't have a lot of time left to get it finished.

My girls are letting me down. 5 today. 3 are moulting, 2 are sharing a room in the broody buster cage. That drops my potential to 9 but that is about what I was getting before these "events".

20 Eggs Today, 2 hens are still broody (#9 & 10) sitting on imaginary eggs, been kicking them out of nesting boxes everyday.

seems I have 7 it is so hot most mine sit in shade feathers out it is 90 here
that is highly odd

April, did you change feeds? I’ve noticed on our egg yolks too, that they’re a little paler than usual.

I did not change the feed. Could it just be the weather?

Yep. Days getting shorter, time to think about moulting and that means not laying.

And as soon as your back is turned they are back in those boxes.

4 today, the broodies are screaming at me from their buster box, not ready to come out and be civil yet.

Could be, it’s been hot. I’d been giving my chickens lots of tomatoes and zucchinis that’s been growing way too big under the shade.

What are good veggies and fruits to give them to orange up the yolks? 12/16 today.

I do not feed pellet or crumble right now it is a grain by woods I have 6 today yes mine are protesting the heat also not being used to it here.. I give just close to anything but onions or such but they love all squash or broccoli, cauliflower
