Thank you! Thus the difficulty with breeding them. Both having tufts would result in some of the offspring with 2 copies, some with one and some with none.
Did they?took the new six up there in my brooder box let the silky hear them a day see if they want to raise them as they have before

No really!!!??? So sorry PennyThey all passed in the night possibly being taken on the road trip short but the stress can kill them![]()

@karenerwin how is you Mom getting along now
She didn't go down for breakfast the first morning back in St. Louis, but she made it down for lunch and dinner. She hasn't been complaining about terrible pain and she hasn't been sleeping her days away. So, I would say that she is back to normal.
So I am pretty sure it was a hawk of some sort that killed the hen and that the dog and I scared it away. Plus it looked like the work of a hawk because they pluck the feathers off and the rest of our predators just "dig right in" and start eating.
Here's to hoping I get a good hatch rate! They all passed in the night possibly being taken on the road trip short but the stress can kill them![]()

Aww, Penny, that's awful! I'm so sorry to hear that you lost all 6 of them.![]()
