How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Update: DH collected a very small brown egg from the sun roost. Makes 16 for the day after all.

Sicilia was acting better but she ended up back on the floor. Looks like she fell off the roost. Not good. DH went out and put her in the sun roost for the rest of the night. Poor thing. I can’t see anything wrong with her.

I had 3 main coop same 3 in silky

And the heat wave hits. Only 12 eggs today and a few were small. That confuses me. Will hens lay smaller than usual for them eggs due to heat or stress?

Knock on wood I haven’t had any soft eggs for quite a little while now. The leghorns have feathered in quite nicely now. I think that helped.

8 eggs today, possibly more. I didn't look under the broody to see if she had more than 9 or not.

Where did we all go ? was getting 4 or 5 cleaned the coops dug down with the little joe tiller about 2 feet dirt floor 2 bales of shavings 8 in the main coop 3 form silky

What do you mean by built a table use them as roosts? Can I see a picture??

Wow. I haven’t posted here in a week. Had no idea it was that long. Got between 11-14 eggs every day this week.

Ended up culling Sicilia yesterday. . She was getting worse and I didn’t want her to suffer. Did a necropsy and it looks like she had a large tumor in her egg production area. Also she had injured her right kneecap area which explains the limp.

I’m Away for the week so the chicken sitter is on duty. This is the ‘other’ neighbor. He did a great job this morning so I’m very encouraged!

This pic is from Friday but I got another 5 today. What makes it special is the two small tinted eggs are from my Speckled Sussex’s. So the lighter colored tinted egg is my 2nd SS’s first egg! Now I’m just waiting for my 3rd SS, a Production Blue and an EE to start laying. The SS eggs are averaging 1.30oz so I hope soon they will at least increase to medium sized eggs.

What do you mean by built a table use them as roosts? Can I see a picture??

Use three of them in the main coop have one in each room of the silky coop rooster coop has one to early here for an egg count had one in the nest others will follow
but have used tables for 5 years the top is pallets with legs
