I'll have to try to remember where I found it. lol I had picked chilies in the garden and had a few really huge poblanos, so I probably looked up a recipe online. If I did I probably printed it out and it's laying here somewhere.Nothing so fancy I’m afraid. It’s good old meatloaf. BUT it does have a secret ingredient: homemade ketchup which is a family recipe for at least 50 years. I was part of the chain gang making it - and every other thing you could make with tomatoes and home grown garden food - as a child. Do the math - lol!
I just started earlier this year making it myself. I had the foresight to get the family recipe book a few decades ago and copy it all down. Yea for me! The ketchup goes IN the meatloaf as well as a thin layer on top. The ketchup is slightly sweet (adjustable depending on how much brown sugar goes in) and has a kick too based on how many hot peppers are added.
I cheat these days and use store bought plain tomato sauce as the base. I don’t have the garden yet to grow my own. It works well and keeps the cost and time effort reasonable.
Care to share that chili relleno casserole recipe???
How do you feed the chickens chicken bones? I haven’t been doing it due to concern of the bones splitting or whatever is the reason people don’t give chicken bones to dogs.11 eggs today.
The chickens got a lot of scraps today ( pumpkin seeds and rind left of from making pumpkin pies; the pumpkin water from cooking the pumpkin flesh for the pies; chicken scraps and bones leftover from my niece who had 3 rotisserie chickens, egg shells, leftover stew from the grandson and who knows what else was in there!).
Don't know if there will be more or less eggs tomorrow!
Thank you Penny! I hope you do put up a video! I just got a new phone so mostly I wanted to figure out how to upload one.Maybe I can do a film one of these days loved that @Sequel
