Sometimes my BR, will lay the egg right in my hand. Talk about fresh eggs!

She allows me that honor all the time, she's my lap chicken.

Found my egg eater! It’s Pella the black copper Marans. Caught her pecking holes in two eggs and broke a third chasing her away from them! I am about ready for a chicken dinner! (Except tomorrow I would miss her.) Threw her in the other pen alone for now. She left me 4 eggs, probably all I get today.

If I catch an egg eater we have fried chicken for Sunday Dinner!!!

But once you wash them, you can't set them back under the broody. I was more worried about lots of partially developed babies, but I think she had already been harassed and abandoned the nest.

Oh, my mistake. I didn't realize we were talking about fertilized eggs under a hen!

Will do. We ended up with 3/8 of an inch. Not a whole lot but better than the whole month of February
