How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Only one and it is covered in chook poo. Lately, they have been smashing the eggs and pooing all over the ones that they didn't break.

I cleaned out the nest boxes and added fresh bedding today. Obviously this upset my ladies, they only gave me 39 eggs today.
I should be ashamed of myself.... because we all know new bedding might be something that could potentially eat them...

5 so far today . Waiting to see what my soft shell layer does today , there was no softie on the poop board this morn so keeping my fingers crossed .

5 eggs from 7 hens! Things are heating up!

5 eggs from our hens and 1(finally!) from our duck.
Plus I cleaned up a nest of 20+ eggs that my dad found yesterday while cleaning up the chicken yard.

12ish. Mellori's was broken in the nest they've made in the feed room. Last year she was laying really thin shelled eggs. Seemed to start out OK this year but maybe her factory just isn't up to the task any more. She's a 2015 chick. And yes they have oyster shell free choice and get layer pellets.

I spotted my missing broody hen today. ☺ She was up the hill behind my house with five little chicks in tow. She wouldn't let me get anywhere near her though. I'm hoping she'll bring them back to the yard when evening comes.
