How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

8 eggs from 13 hens. Some days it's 5 or 6, some days it's 7 or 8. I'm in the process of banding them to find out who are the most consistent layers.

I GOT 5 OUT OF A POSSIBLE 6 TODAY. ONE OF MY GIRLS HAS GONE BROODY...WITH NO ROOSTER AROUND? HOW LONG WILL THIS LAST? SHE IS AN AUSTRALORP AND HAS BEEN SITTING ON NOTHING IN THE NEST FOR ALMOST FOUR WEEKS NOW. WON'T SHE GET TIRED OF THIS? UGH!! SHE SWELLS UP LIKE A TURKEY AND CLUCKS FUNNY. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Got 5 out of 11 today. 8 out of 11 yesterday.

1 egg from 4 hens but only one is laying, she is a langsham bantam (dipsy). I usually get an egg a day from her, she's only been laying for about a month. if not an egg a day its 1 every 2nd day

I hope the other 3 start laying soon, 1 is a cochin (Fiffie) and the other 2 are crosses (Lala and Darna)

21 layers and only 11 eggs. To many not pulling their weight. My egg total for the year is 1415.

I've had my young flock 2 weeks this Sunday. I bought 3 girls between the ages of 5 to 8 months, and 2 juviniles about 2 - 3 months old. In the past 10 days the Miorcan has laid 1 egg (the first night) and the Americana has laid an egg almost every day. The Cochin has done nothing but bully the others. The juvies are just scurrying around trying to get a bite to eat and stay out of the way. I'm not getting to upset yet as the girls are in a temp. pen in the front yard, it's only about 10 feet in diameter and they are using the igloo dog house for a hen house. In addition the Golden Ret. spend lots of time staring at them. That has to be unsettling! I figured having laying hens would get us better motivated to finish the run & hen house, which it has. I hope to have a better report next week.
